Summerland Dog Training

Tracking Workshops

Bushland Tracking Workshops

For the first time, Summerland Dog Training is taking its Bushland Tracking Workshops on the road.

These workshops are designed to give dog handlers practical, real-world tracking experience in natural bushland environments across NSW.

Whether you’re completely new to tracking, already involved in scent work, or an experienced handler wanting to challenge and further develop your dog, these workshops are built to meet you where you’re at.

What Is Bushland Tracking?

Bushland tracking is the process of teaching your dog to follow human ground scent through natural terrain such as forest, scrub and mixed bush environments.

It’s one of the most rewarding forms of dog work because it taps directly into your dog’s natural abilities while building focus, problem solving, handler-dog communication, confidence in varied terrain, and practical scent discrimination skills.

Training is structured, supportive, and progressive with clear guidance on how to continue your tracking journey after the workshop.

These workshops are suitable for:

• Beginners wanting to get started in tracking properly

• Dog owners already doing scent work who want to expand into tracking

• Experienced handlers wanting to test and further develop their dog

• Working dog enthusiasts looking for real world application

No prior tracking experience is required just a dog willing to work.

Locations & Workshop Structure

Workshops will be held in forested bushland areas and open fields and paddocks

Workshop dates and locations are listed below. Once you purchase a ticket, you’ll receive a confirmation email with detailed information specific to your chosen workshop location, including meeting points, preparation guidance, and what to bring.

Instructor Background

Your instructor is former NSW Police Dog Handler Paul Zubcic, combining real operational tracking experience with clear, practical training for everyday handlers.

Spots are intentionally limited to keep the training hands on, so if you’ve been thinking about getting into tracking or progressing your dog further, this is a great opportunity to do it properly  you’ll get plenty of practical field time rather than just standing around watching.

Ticket Policy & Important Information

Due to the very limited number of working spots, all ticket purchases are non-refundable.

If you purchase a ticket and can no longer attend, it becomes the ticket holder’s responsibility to on-sell their spot privately.

This policy ensures workshop quality remains high and working opportunities remain fair for all participants.

2026 Workshop Dates

Tingha 7th & 8th May
