Night Urban Tracking Workshops
A complete tracking dog is one that can work confidently in both bushland and urban environments.
Every environment presents a different challenge. Bushland teaches a dog to work through natural terrain and vegetation, while urban environments introduce hard surfaces, vehicle traffic, pedestrians, heavy contamination, and countless competing odours.
If your goal is to develop a reliable, well-rounded tracking dog, both environments need to be part of your training.
Urban tracking is a different skill set.
Success on hard surfaces isn’t achieved by simply completing more bushland tracks. Dogs and handlers must learn to work through an entirely different set of challenges while maintaining confidence, commitment, and accuracy.
These workshops are designed to progressively develop those skills through structured, practical training in real urban environments.
This workshop is designed for dogs with an existing foundation in tracking.
To ensure every participant receives the maximum value from the day, these workshops are intended for dogs that already understand the fundamentals of tracking.
Rather than spending valuable workshop time teaching the basics, we focus on advancing your dog’s existing skills and introducing the challenges unique to urban tracking.
New to tracking?
If you’re just getting started and wanting to attend an urban workshop, I strongly recommend joining The Tracking Club and completing the first five weeks before attending one of these workshops.
The Tracking Club is my online tracking school and provides the structured foundation your dog needs before progressing into urban tracking.

Locations & Workshop Structure
Workshops will be held in and around indsutrial estates
Workshop dates and locations are listed below. Once you purchase a ticket, you’ll receive a confirmation email with detailed information specific to your chosen workshop location, including meeting points, preparation guidance, and what to bring.
Instructor Background
Your instructor is former NSW Police Dog Handler Paul Zubcic, combining real operational tracking experience with clear, practical training for everyday handlers.
Spots are intentionally limited to keep the training hands on, so if you’ve been thinking about getting into tracking or progressing your dog further, this is a great opportunity to do it properly you’ll get plenty of practical field time rather than just standing around watching.
Ticket Policy & Important Information
Due to the very limited number of working spots, all ticket purchases are non-refundable.
If you purchase a ticket and can no longer attend, it becomes the ticket holder’s responsibility to on-sell their spot privately.
This policy ensures workshop quality remains high and working opportunities remain fair for all participants.
Weather Policy
Workshops are conducted in a wide range of weather conditions, and training will proceed wherever it is safe and practical to do so.
In the event that severe or unsafe weather makes it impossible to conduct the workshop, the workshop may be postponed or cancelled at my discretion.
If a workshop is cancelled due to unsafe weather, participants will receive a credit equal to the value of their booking, which can be used towards any future Summerland Dog Training workshop.
2026 Workshop Dates
Further location details will be provided after booking.
